To strengthen our Admin Department, we're currently looking for a dedicated full time Payment Operations Specialist for Cardmarket. In this role, you will take ownership of the operational management of payment processes across our marketplace. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring payment transactions, handling user payouts, reconciling payment data, and investigating any discrepancies. You will also support KYC and compliance processes and act as a key contact for payment providers and internal stakeholders. Your work will be essential in ensuring that payments are processed accurately, issues are resolved efficiently, and marketplace funds are distributed correctly.

Your Responsibilities

  • Transaction Reconciliation: Managing the daily reconciliation of payment transactions and bank transfers, ensuring internal records accurately match Payment Service Provider (PSP) and banking data
  • Funds Flow Management: Overseeing incoming and outgoing payment flows across multiple currencies, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer deposits, withdrawals and refunds, while maintaining the integrity of user wallet balances
  • Onboarding & Compliance Support: Conducting final seller onboarding reviews, ensuring that account applications meet marketplace requirements and escalating cases that require additional verification
  • Dispute & Chargeback Management: Managing payment disputes and chargebacks, coordinate investigations with internal teams and payment providers, and support fraud prevention efforts to mitigate financial risk
  • PSP & Vendor Relations: Serving as the operational point of contact for marketplace-focused payment providers (e.g. PayPal, Braintree), coordinating issue resolution, operational requests, and compliance-related inquiries
  • Payment Operations Support: Collaborating closely with Customer Support to investigate payment-related issues, assist with customer complaints, provide operational expertise, and ensure accurate and timely resolution of complex payment cases

Your profile

  • Marketplace or Platform Experience: Proven experience in financial operations, digital payments, or treasury, ideally within an online marketplace, SaaS platform, or multi-merchant e-commerce environment
  • Payment Infrastructure Knowledge: Direct experience with multi-party payment architectures
  • Problem-Solving & Detail Orientation: Exceptional analytical skills to dissect complex transaction failures or reconciliation gaps across multiple parties
  • Collaborative Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge technical payment logic with both internal engineering teams and external business partners
  • Languages: Excellent written and spoken English is required, additional languages are always welcome
  • Presence in Berlin & valid work permit is necessary!
